UHS opens state-of-the-art Clinical Laboratory for public in Punjab

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 14th, 2026) The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has opened its state-of-the-art clinical laboratory to the public, offering more than 178 advanced diagnostic tests at affordable rates.

Punjab Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique inaugurated the facility, which is being described as one of the most advanced clinical laboratories in the public sector in the province.

According to UHS, the laboratory will provide a wide range of diagnostic services, including cancer screening, genetic testing and other specialised investigations, enabling hospitals and the public to access internationally standardised diagnostic facilities under one roof.

The university said the laboratory will also strengthen medical research and patient care by providing postgraduate students with access to clinical samples for research purposes within the institution.

UHS has launched the diagnostic services with the support of six specialised departmental laboratories, aiming to integrate education, research and patient care on a single platform.

Vice Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore said the new clinical laboratory represents a major step forward in improving healthcare services and medical research, while ensuring the availability of high-quality diagnostic tests at affordable costs for the public.
