UAF VC held meeting with HEC Chairman to discuss quality research and education areas

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor(VC) Prof.Dr.Zulfiqar Ali called on Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr.Niaz Ahmad Akhtar in Islamabad and discussed the areas of quality education and research.

UAF spokesman said in a statement here on Friday that Dr.Niaz Ahmad during meeting appreciated UAF performance,saying that being the first agricultural university of the subcontinent,UAF had played a pivotal role in agricultural education and research and problems-solving of agriculture sector.

Dr.Niaz said that the universities remain the Primary centers for the creation and transformation of knowledge.

It was era of digitalization and HEC has made mandatory for all public and private universities to introduce on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in degree programs.

Dr.Niaz further said that universities must create and transform knowledge,inculcate skills and produce responsible and civilized citizens for society.

HEC allocates substantial resources to research and will continue facilitating researchers through funding and supportive initiatives.

Dr.Zulfiqar Ali congratulated Dr.Niaz Akhtar on assuming the charge of Chairman HEC and hoped that under his patronage,the higher education sector will flourish rapidly.

He said that all-out efforts were being made to drive the change that will transform its research,learning, innovation, and outreach to advance sustainable development.

Dr.Zulfiqar further said that UAF has implemented e-Filing system,ensuing e-tracking of files,operational efficiency, cost sustainability,data security and merit-based governance.

“We are responsible to broaden UAF’s global engagement and extension efforts so we can effectively respond to emerging agricultural challenges and drive sustainable progress”,he concluded.
