ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) The Embassy of the United States in Islamabad on Thursday showcased the growing potential of U.S.-Pakistan collaboration in the creative economy by bringing together artists, designers, entrepreneurs and cultural leaders at the Arts Entrepreneurship Showcase, celebrating American excellence in textile and fashion alongside Pakistan's vibrant creative talent.
The event was held at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP).
Speaking on the occasion, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires to Pakistan, Natalie A. Baker said creativity was not merely a form of artistic expression but a powerful driver of economic growth, innovation and stronger international partnerships.
She said the event reflected the shared commitment of the United States and Pakistan to promoting entrepreneurship, cultural exchange and innovation through the arts.
The ambassador appreciated renowned artist, Tauseeq Haider and renowned Pakistani fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) for organizing the showcase and recognized the contributions of artists, designers and entrepreneurs whose work demonstrated how creativity creates opportunities, preserves identities and opens new economic avenues.
Highlighting the strong textile partnership between the two countries, Natalie Baker said Pakistani exports of finished apparel and clothing products to the United States had averaged more than US$4 billion annually over the past five years.
Many globally recognized brands, including J.Crew, Nike, Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister, source products manufactured in Pakistan using American cotton, she said.
She noted that Pakistan imports nearly US$800 million worth of U.S. cotton and related products each year, making the United States Pakistan's second-largest supplier of cotton and underscoring the deep integration of the two countries' textile supply chains.
"From American cotton fields to Pakistani factories and global markets, our textile partnership is woven into the everyday lives of people in both countries," she said.
The ambassador also highlighted efforts to empower Pakistani entrepreneurs through digital trade, referring to a recent masterclass for members of the U.S.-Pakistan Alumni Network on e-commerce platforms such as Etsy to help local businesses reach international consumers.

Addressing the gathering, internationally acclaimed Pakistani fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) said American culture had profoundly influenced global fashion and inspired generations of young creatives to view fashion as a viable profession and business.
He said Pakistan's fashion industry now supports thousands of artisans, craftsmen, photographers, stylists, models and other creative professionals while preserving cultural heritage and embracing innovation.
Describing fashion as "one of the world's most powerful forms of diplomacy," HSY said a garment can carry history, craftsmanship can preserve memory, and design can build bridges between nations.
He congratulated the United States on its 250-year milestone and acknowledged its contribution to fostering creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation worldwide, including in Pakistan's growing creative industries.
Earlier, Natalie Baker toured an exhibition featuring jewellery, paintings, photography, hand-embroidered dresses and other artworks created by entrepreneurs from the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network.
The highlight of the evening was a spectacular fashion show tracing the evolution of American fashion over the past 250 years, illustrating its influence on global design trends and emphasizing the enduring cultural and economic connections between the United States and Pakistan.
The fashion show was attended by renowned television artist, Laila Zubairi, art lovers and people from diverse fields of life.
The programme also featured an interactive panel discussion titled "From Passion to Profit: Scaling Your Creative Business," where leading entrepreneurs and industry experts shared insights on transforming creative ideas into sustainable businesses.
The session, featuring Startup Guide Co-founder Shehab Farrukh Niazi and LAAM Co-founder and CEO Arif Iqbal, explored entrepreneurship, innovation, digital platforms and opportunities for Pakistan's emerging creative professionals.
