Two siblings drown in canal

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Two minor siblings drowned in the Marala Ravi Link Canal near Dhale Wali area of Sialkot on Monday,rescue officials said.

According to officials,Komal (13) and her brother Sameer(7) had gone near the canal when the boy accidentally slipped into deep water.

Komal also drowned while attempting to save her brother.

Teams from Rescue 1122 and police rushed to the scene and launched a search operation.

The bodies of both children were recovered nearly 600 meters from the spot and were later handed over to the family after necessary formalities.
