FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) The police have arrested two record-holder criminals in injured condition during separate police encounters in the areas of Madina Town and Nishatabad police stations.
Police spokesman said here on Sunday that a proclaimed offender involved in multiple cases of robbery and theft was arrested in injured condition during an encounter in the jurisdiction of Madina Town police station.
The accused was identified as Abdul Jabbar who was allegedly involved in snatching motorcycles and valuables from innocent citizens at gunpoint.
The spokesman said that SHO Madina Town police station Sub Inspector (SI) Adeel Akram along with police team was present near Ghausia Chowk in connection with search for proclaimed offenders when they spotted three suspects and signaled them to stop.
However, the suspects opened straight firing on the police party instead of surrendering, he added.
The police retaliated in self-defense and after exchange of fire stopped, one suspect was found lying injured at the scene after reportedly being hit by bullets fired by his own accomplices.
During initial interrogation, the injured accused disclosed that he had committed multiple robbery incidents by using weapons against citizens, the spokesman said.
The injured accused was shifted to hospital for medical treatment, while his accomplices escaped from the scene by taking advantage of darkness.
Raids and a search operation were underway to arrest the fleeing suspects and they would be apprehended soon, he added.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>In another incident, a notorious drug dealer was arrested in injured condition during a police encounter in the area of Nishatabad police station.
The accused was identified as Khawar Abbas who was allegedly involved in large-scale drug trafficking and had previous criminal record.
The police spokesman said that SHO Nishatabad police station Sajid Mahmood was conducting snap-checking near Pull Dingro when four suspects riding two motorcycles appeared at the spot.
On being signaled to stop, the suspects opened indiscriminate firing on the police party and fled towards Pull Dingro Canal Link Road near Chak No.49-JB Munda Pind, he added.
The suspects continued blunt firing while entering nearby maize fields whereas the police also retaliated in self-defense.
After the firing stopped, the police found one suspect injured at the scene who had reportedly been hit by firing of his own accomplices.
The police recovered illegal weapons and more than one kilogram of heroin from the possession of the injured accused.
The injured suspect was shifted to hospital for medical treatment while the remaining accomplices escaped by taking advantage of the maize crop and darkness.
Search operations and raids were continuing for arrest of the fleeing suspects and they would be arrested soon, police spokesman added.
