MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) Police arrested two proclaimed offenders (POs) after an exchange of fire in Shah Shams police precincts late Friday night.
According to police sources, a police team was conducting routine checking near Pir Colony No. 3 when four suspects riding motorcycles were spotted. The suspects were signaled to stop but they attempted to flee.
Police said when they were chased, they opened fire on the police party. The police personnel took cover and exercised restraint while responding in self-defence.
After exchange of fire, two suspects were found lying injured on the ground with bullet wounds to their right legs, allegedly caused by firing from their own accomplices. Police recovered two 30-bore pistols from their possession.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The injured suspects were identified as Arsalan, son of Muhammad islam, and Waris, son of Khalid, both residents of Delhi Gate, Multan. Their accomplices managed to escape under the cover of darkness while firing at the police party.
During the investigation, police found that the motorcycle being used by the suspects had been snatched during a robbery and was linked to a case registered under FIR No. 714/26 at Shah Shams Police Station.
Police further revealed that both arrested suspects were proclaimed offenders and had previous records in multiple theft and robbery cases.
A district-wide blockade was imposed to apprehend the fleeing accomplices, however, the injured suspects were shifted to Nishtar Hospital by Rescue 1122 for medical treatment, police sources added.
