Two policemen martyred, 4 injured in suicide attack on Bhakkar check post

Two police personnel were martyred and four other persons, including three civilians, sustained injuries on Tuesday evening in a suicide attack at the Dajal inter-provincial checkpost in Bhakkar district

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) Two police personnel were martyred and four other persons, including three civilians, sustained injuries on Tuesday evening in a suicide attack at the Dajal inter-provincial checkpost in Bhakkar district.

According to a police spokesperson, terrorists targeted the checkpost located in the Saddar Police Station area at approximately 7:00 PM.

The martyred police personnel were identified as Mohammad Shahbaz Madni and Fahim Abbas. The blast also resulted in injuries to other police personnel Mohammad Arshad and three passersby, identified as polio workers Ajab Ali and Zubair, and a private hi-ace coach driver Mohammad Hasnain.

Following the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Bhakkar Shahzad Rafique Awan reached the site with a heavy police contingent to monitor rescue operations. The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bhakkar for medical assistance.

Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, while the Crime Scene Unit collected forensic evidence from the spot.

The DPO stated that the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain and the police remained committed to ensuring the safety of the public.
