Two injured as trailer overturns

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) At least two people sustained critical wounds as their 16-wheeler trailer turned turtle near Uch area of the district.

According to Rescue-1122 staff, a trailer traveling from Islamabad to Karachi overturned near Tahir Wali, close to Uch town, after the driver reportedly fell asleep. “Two people were injured in the accident and were provided with first aid by the rescue team,” they said adding that the injured had been shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Ahmedpur East for further medical treatment.

The accident site has been cordoned off, and a Rescue 1122 vehicle remained at the scene to ensure safety. The road was currently blocked to traffic, while National Highways and Motorway Police personnel were present and managing the situation.

The injured were identified as Zulfiqar, son of Nawaz, age 25 years old, who received a head injury and, Khurram Shahzad, son of Atta, age 28 years old, who suffered deep cut to the left foot.
