Two held for human smuggling, copyright violations

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone, during separate operations in Lahore and Gujrat, arrested two suspects allegedly involved in human smuggling and violation of the Copyright Act.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the raids were conducted by FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle and Corporate Crime Circle Lahore.

The arrested suspects were identified as Muhammad Bilal from Lahore and Liaqat Muhammad Abbas from Gujrat.

The spokesperson said Bilal had allegedly defrauded a citizen of Rs 593,000 on the pretext of arranging overseas employment. However, he failed to send the victim abroad and later went into hiding.

Meanwhile, Liaqat was found involved in violations of the Copyright Act. During the raid, FIA officials recovered a large quantity of counterfeit products of various well-known registered companies from his possession.
