Two drug suppliers get 26 years combined jail sentence

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) Two drug suppliers were sentenced to a combined 26 years in prison and fined Rs700,000 by courts in Rawalpindi.

According to details, a court awarded 14 years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs400,000 to a convicted drug peddler, Haroon, who was arrested by the Waris Khan police in July 2025 after 5.2 kilograms of cannabis were recovered from his possession.

In another case, the court sentenced Ahsan Shehzad to 12 years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs300,000. He had been arrested by the Dhamial police in May 2025 after 3.

14 kilograms of charas were recovered from him.

Police said the convictions were secured due to solid evidence and effective follow-up of the cases during the investigation and trial.

City Police Officer Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, appreciated the performance of the SSP Investigation and the investigation and legal teams for ensuring exemplary punishment for the criminals.

He said the police were taking all possible measures to eradicate the menace of narcotics from society.
