VEHARI:
Two Water and Saniration Agency ASA workers died while cleaning a sewer near the Old Bus Stand on Multan Road in Vehari. The deceased, Sunny and Sawal, reportedly fell unconscious after being exposed to poisonous gases during the cleaning work. According to initial reports, Sunny entered the sewer and Sawal followed him in an attempt to rescue him, but both died. Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot, but the workers could not be saved. The bodies were shifted to the Vehari District Headquarters Hospital for legal formalities. WASA officials blamed a contractor, alleging that he had started the sewer work without permission.
