MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Two persons were arrested and three shops sealed during an anti-profiteering campaign launched here on Wednesday, official said here on Wednesday
Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Jappa said that during the ongoing price control campaign, 1,484 inspections were conducted across the district. Fines amounting to Rs74,000 were imposed on violators for overcharging and other irregularities.
He said the drive was being conducted with the assistance of price control magistrates and para force to ensure availability of essential food items at officially fixed rates during Ramzan.
The Deputy Commissioner warned that profiteering would not be tolerated and strict action would continue against violators.
He also directed price control magistrates to maintain regular checking in markets and bazaars so that maximum relief could be provided to the public.
