Tree plantation drive held at Millia Park to promote greener Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) A tree plantation campaign was organised at Millia Park on Sixth Road in collaboration with the Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi(HAR), the Environmental Protection Agency and a non-governmental organisation.

Member of the National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb and Members of the Provincial Assembly, Punjab, attended the event and participated in the drive by planting saplings.

Speaking on the occasion, Tahira Aurangzeb said tree plantation was essential for reducing environmental pollution and promoting a cleaner and greener environment.

She urged citizens, particularly the younger generation, to contribute towards environmental protection by planting more trees.

During the ceremony, saplings were distributed to students and teachers to encourage tree planting and raise awareness of environmental conservation. Participants also expressed their commitment to supporting environmentally friendly initiatives in the future.
