Tree plantation campaign launched in South Waziristan Lower

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan Lower Musarrat Zaman has launched a 'Ehsaas Tree Plantation' campaign to ensure clean and green environment for the people of the area.

Accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Wana Rizwan Barki, the DC planted saplings to mark the start of the campaign.

According to the administration around one million trees will be planted across the province under this initiative.

Addressing the ceremony, the deputy commissioner said

the drive's aim was to reduce environmental pollution, enhance natural beauty, and promote a greener environment.

He urged the people to actively participate in the plantation drive and contribute by planting more trees in their areas.

He added that planting trees was not only essential for environmental improvement but also a guarantee of a safe and healthy future for the coming generations.
