Transgender killed, another injured in Chamkani shooting

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) A transgender was killed and another person injured in a shooting incident in the Chamkani area here on Wednesday, police said.

The incident occurred near Dando Bridge, Sabzi Mandi, where unidentified armed assailants opened fire on the victims.

The deceased was identified as Mashal, aka Mishi Jan, aged around 25.

Whereas, the injured, identified as Baseer, 22, son of Syed Wali, belonged to the Afridi tribe. Both the victims were immediately shifted to nearby hospital.

Police have collected evidence from the crime scene and registered a case against unidentified accused.

A search operation has been launched, while investigators was underway.

Preliminary police reports suggested that any personal enmity behind the incident while police said the exact motive would be ascertained after complete investigation.
