FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) Wheat growers were trained in modern marketing techniques,scientific storage methods and the use of digital market information during a special training session organized at Chak No.91-GB Jaggatpur,here on Monday.
The session was arranged by the Model Farm Services Center (MFC) where a large number of farmers participated.
Officials from the food Safety and Consumer Protection Department Punjab,the Directorate of Economics and Marketing, and experts from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad briefed participants on effective crop marketing,safe storage practices and post-harvest loss prevention.
Speakers highlighted that proper storage techniques were essential to maintain grain quality and reduce damage caused by pests and environmental factors,adding that improved handling can significantly cut losses.
Farmers were also introduced to the Agricultural Marketing Information Service (AMIS) platform,which provides comparative price analysis and real-time market trends to help growers make informed decisions regarding storage and sale of produce.
Experts said the digital platform enables farmers to compare prices across markets,helping them identify better selling opportunities and improve returns.
They further stressed that adoption of modern technology and scientific practices would reduce losses, improve crop quality and enhance farmers’ competitiveness in the market.
