ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Mar, 2026) In a commendable initiative to welcome visitors and ensure smooth travel during the Eid holidays, the Abbottabad Traffic Police established special traffic facilitation camps at key tourist routes on the second day of Eid al-Fitr.

The camps were set up at prominent locations including Dhamtor Bypass, Nathia Gali, Harno (or Thandiani area), and Barian to cater to the influx of tourists heading to the scenic Galiyat region.

At these visitor-friendly camps, tourists received valuable guidance on routes and road safety, along with the distribution of informative safety pamphlets. As a warm gesture of hospitality, personnel offered complimentary tea, coffee, juices for children, and light snacks to make travelers feel welcomed and refreshed.

SSP Traffic Abbottabad Ishtiaq Khan personally visited the facilitation camps to inspect the arrangements.

He directed the on-duty staff to extend every possible assistance to tourists and to maintain courteous and helpful behavior at all times.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Ishtiaq Khan said, “The Abbottabad Traffic Police warmly welcomes all tourists visiting the beautiful Galiyat areas. We have established these facilitation camps at multiple strategic points to provide guidance, convenience, and every possible support to our guests. I urge all visitors to cooperate fully with the traffic police and to strictly adhere to safety measures throughout their journey.”

This proactive measure reflects the police department’s commitment to tourist safety, traffic management, and promoting a positive image of the region during the festive season when tourist footfall typically surges in Abbottabad and surrounding hill stations.
