Traffic police launch crackdown on overcharging by transporters ahead of Eid

The district Traffic police have launched a special crackdown against public transporters charging excessive fares from passengers ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) The district Traffic police have launched a special crackdown against public transporters charging excessive fares from passengers ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Acting on the directives of District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmed, DSP Traffic Anwar Khattak along with Incharge Traffic Qaiser Hilal Sial initiated a special campaign to curb overcharging by public transporters.

During the campaign, the traffic police conducted checking at various locations and took legal action against those found charging passengers above the officially approved fares. The drivers were strictly instructed to follow the fare list issued by the government while collecting fares from commuters.

Traffic police officials said that protecting the rights of passengers is a priority and warned that strict action will continue against transport operators involved in overcharging.
