Traffic police arrest youths for road blockage, reckless driving

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) The City Traffic Police Lahore took timely action and arrested a group of youths involved in reckless driving, road blockage and creating disturbance on Ferozepur Road, registering a case against them.

According to spokesperson, several youths riding in different vehicles had blocked the road, causing inconvenience to citizens and disrupting the flow of traffic.

The youths, travelling in four Prado vehicles, two Honda Civics and one Toyota Altis, were seen coming out of car rooftops and performing zigzag driving, creating serious traffic hazards.

Upon receiving information, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi directed the traffic police teams to take immediate action.

Following the orders, DSP Circle Ichhra Shaukat Ali and In-charge Traffic Sector Sajjad carried out a prompt operation. The traffic police team set up a picket, stopped the vehicles and conducted checking.

The arrested youths, identified as students of a local college, included Ali Hassan, Nazim Ali, Wali Muhammad and Asif Javed.

The traffic police took the youths into custody along with their vehicles and handed them over to Ichhra Police Station, where an FIR was registered.

The CTO said that roads are meant for public movement and no one would be allowed to create disturbance or block traffic.

He further directed traffic police officials to take strict and immediate action against anyone causing obstruction or blocking roads.
