LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Sherazi visited various cattle markets of the city and reviewed the traffic and parking arrangements.
He visited Sagian cattle market where DSP Sagian gave him a detailed briefing on the parking and traffic plan. It was informed in the briefing that parking of loader rickshaws, including small and big vehicles, is being done separately.
Shirazi said that special personnel have been deployed to prevent wrong parking and one-way traffic violations, while traffic response units are also present in cattle markets with additional personnel. He clarified that parking of animals or vehicles will not be allowed on main highways, while actions are also underway against those who set up illegal cattle markets.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>According to the CTO Lahore, 7 cattle markets have been established at different places in the city, while 13 DSPs, 60 inspectors and 200 wardens are performing duty under the supervision of divisional officers. He said that 10 forklifts have also been deployed to eliminate wrong parking and encroachments. The CTO directed wardens to keep a close watch on vagrants, suspicious persons and abandoned items and also ordered all circle officers to conduct regular visits to livestock markets.
