In a statement, he said the decision would provide some respite to traders and consumers amid ongoing economic challenges.

He also paid tribute to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his leadership and efforts in safeguarding national interests, promoting regional stability and effectively presenting Pakistan’s stance at the international level.

However, he highlighted that the business community, daily wagers and low-income cluster of population had faced severe economic pressure in recent days, adding that commercial activities had been badly affected.

Sharjeel Mir urged the authorities to lift the lockdown immediately, stating that the situation had returned to normal and businesses should be allowed to fully resume operations.

He said that restoration of economic activity was essential to reduce financial hardships faced by traders and the general public.
