Three shops sealed, Rs 81,000 fine imposed during crackdown in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Mar, 2026) The district administration has sealed three shops, imposed fines worth Rs. 81,000 and disposed of 20 liters of unhealthy cooking oil during crackdown carried out in different localities.

Assistant Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, Syed Muhammad Arslan, carried out a comprehensive crackdown in Madina Colony and Chah Syed Manawar Shah on the directives of the provincial government.

During the operation, the assistant commissioner inspected general stores, naan shops, fruit and vegetable vendors, milk and yogurt outlets, and various food stalls in the area.

Multiple violations were identified, including failure to display official price lists, overcharging customers, underweight sales, use of stale and harmful cooking oil, poor hygiene arrangements, and encroachment on the Right of Way (ROW) by placing goods on roadsides for sale.

As part of the enforcement measures, 20 litres of substandard and unhealthy oil were confiscated and destroyed on the spot. The shopkeepers found guilty of overcharging were fined immediately, and the excess amounts collected from customers were refunded at the site.

In total, fines amounting to Rs 81,000 were imposed, while three shops were sealed for serious violations.

Assistant Commissioner, Syed Muhammad Arslan reiterated that no compromise would be made on public health and consumer rights. He emphasized that strict and indiscriminate action against violators would continue to ensure compliance with government regulations and safeguard public interest.
