GHAZI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) In a decisive action against violations in the timber sector, Assistant Commissioner Ghazi Junid Aftab,

accompanied by SDFO Ghazi and officials from the Forest Department, conducted a surprise inspection

of various sawmills and timber markets in the region.

During the operation, authorities sealed three sawmills on the spot after finding them lacking the requisite

legal documentation. The Assistant Commissioner issued directives to initiate legal proceedings against

the individuals responsible for the violations.

In addition to the sawmills, timber sellers were also subjected to detailed scrutiny to ensure compliance

with legal protocols governing the purchase, sale, and transportation of wood.

The inspection revealed

no illegal activities in the timber markets.

Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Ghazi Junid Aftab reiterated a zero-tolerance policy

against the illegal cutting, transportation, and sale of timber. “Action will continue without discrimination

against all violators,” he stated, warning that strict enforcement of the law would remain a top priority.
