ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) Three passengers were safely rescued after a sudden technical fault developed in a chairlift (Doli Lift) in the Thai Dhamtor area of Tehsil Havelian, according to the district administration.
Officials said that soon after receiving reports of the malfunction, rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the site. With the support of local residents, a prompt and successful rescue operation was carried out, during which all three passengers trapped in the chairlift were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported in the incident.
On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Sarmad Saleem Akram, Additional Assistant Commissioner Galiyat Muhammad Tariq and Additional Assistant Commissioner Kamran Ali Shah, along with rescue officials, visited the site, supervised the operation, and reviewed the situation in detail.
Following the incident, the district administration sealed the chairlift until further notice and summoned its owner to court regarding compliance and fitness certification.

It has been clearly stated that the chairlift will remain suspended until a valid fitness certificate and No Objection Certificate (NOC) are obtained.
The district administration reiterated that ensuring the safety of citizens is its top priority and that strict implementation of safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) is being enforced across all chairlifts to prevent any future incidents.
