Three-Day religious festival concludes at Gurdwara Babe Di Beri

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) The concluding ceremony of the annual three-day religious rituals, held in remembrance of the arrival of Baba Guru Nanak, was observed with great reverence and devotion at Gurdwara Babe Di Beri.

Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora and Sardar Jaskaran Singh attended the ceremony as special guests, while a large number of local and international Sikh pilgrims also participated in the event.

Addressing the gathering, Ramesh Singh Arora said that Pakistan has always promoted peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony. He added that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, issues faced by minorities were being resolved on a priority basis, and effective steps were being taken to safeguard their religious and social rights.

He expressed satisfaction that the government has initiated efforts to reclaim sacred religious sites from illegal occupation and restore them to their original status, a move appreciated by minority communities.

The minister further announced that restoration and renovation work at Gurdwara Baoli Sahib in Sialkot and Gurdwara Fateh Bhinder in Daska will begin soon to provide improved facilities for pilgrims.

He noted that minorities in Pakistan celebrate their religious festivals freely with full government support, adding that Easter on April 5 and Vaisakhi on April 14 will also be observed with great enthusiasm.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Jaskaran Singh said that Baba Guru Nanak visited this site in 1517, and the festival is observed annually on March 21, 22, and 23 in his memory. He added that Sikh pilgrims from around the world visit Sialkot during these days to participate in religious rituals, highlighting Pakistan’s positive and peaceful image globally.

Special prayers were offered at the end of the ceremony for the country’s peace, prosperity, and interfaith harmony.

Participants also reaffirmed their commitment to promoting love, tolerance, and brotherhood in society.
