MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddique chaired a meeting of the Health Department to review preparations for the upcoming anti-polio campaign and directed officials to utilize all available resources to ensure its successful implementation.
He informed that the special national polio eradication campaign will be carried out across the district from May 18 to May 21. A target has been set to administer polio drops to 289,727 children under five years of age in 57 union councils.
The Deputy Commissioner said that 1,875 polio teams will conduct door-to-door visits during the campaign.
These include 1,669 mobile teams, 110 fixed teams and 96 transit teams to ensure comprehensive coverage. Polio teams will also remain deployed at hospitals, bus stands, railway stations and other public places to vaccinate children and prevent any child from being missed.
Muhammad Nauman Siddique warned that strict action would be taken against parents refusing vaccination and urged citizens to cooperate fully with health authorities.
He appealed to parents to ensure their children receive polio drops, stating that vaccination is essential to protect children from lifelong disability and to achieve the goal of a polio-free Pakistan.
