District Police Officer (DPO) say terrorists opened fire on police vehicle on Shakardara Road, injuring several officers
KOHAT: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 25th, 2026) A terrorist attack on a police mobile in the outskirts of Kohat on Tuesday left seven people dead, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Wahid Mahmood, six security personnel, and a civilian.
The District Police Officer (DPO) said that the terrorists opened fire on the police vehicle on Shakardara Road, injuring several officers.
Three police personnel, including DSP Wahid Mahmood, were initially killed while four others sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital for treatment.
During treatment, two more officers succumbed to their injuries, raising the total number of police personnel killed in the attack to six.
Hospital sources confirmed that a civilian passerby was also among the deceased.
Three injured police officers and one wounded civilian remain under treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital.
Police officials stated that after the attack, the terrorists set the police vehicle on fire before fleeing the scene.
Law enforcement authorities have deployed a large contingent in the area to secure the site and launch search operations for the attackers.
The incident highlights ongoing security challenges in the Kohat region and has prompted heightened alertness among local police and security forces.
