Tenant held for housebreaking, valuables worth over Rs1.7m recovered

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) The Waris Khan Police on Thursday claimed to have solved a recent housebreaking case by arresting a tenant allegedly involved in the theft and recovering valuables worth over Rs1.7 million.

According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesman, the suspect, who had been living as a tenant in the complainant’s house, committed the offence during the owner’s absence a few days ago.

Acting on leads during the investigation, the police took the tenant into custody. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime, the spokesman claimed.

On his disclosure and identification, the police recovered four expensive watches, including Rolex and Rado brands, collectively valued at more than Rs1 million. Cash amounting to Rs450,000 and an iPhone worth Rs250,000 along with AirPods were also recovered.

A case had earlier been registered, and further investigation is under way.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Saad Arshad said the suspect would be challaned in court with solid evidence.
