PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) The teachers of Islamia College University has postponed their strike until June 8 after the university administration suspended three students involved in the alleged harassment and misconduct case against a female lecturer.
According to the university administration on Tuesday, three students were suspended for two weeks following the preliminary report of the disciplinary committee, which confirmed their involvement in the incident. The students have also been barred from entering the university until the committee announces its final decision.
After the action taken against the students, the university’s teachers called off their protest temporarily and gave the administration a two-week deadline to complete the disciplinary process.
During the General Body meeting of the Teaching Staff Association, members discussed the May 18 notification issued by the Director Admissions regarding final action against those involved in the incident.

The association also emphasized that the teachers’ community would closely monitor whether the administration fulfills its commitments.
The Teaching Staff Association warned that if action is not taken in accordance with the spirit of the official letter, or if the matter is ignored like previous incidents, another General Body meeting will be held on June 8 to decide the future course of action and possible protest measures.
