Teacher's Murder: Killer held after 16 years

KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Police have arrested a proclaimed offender involved in a 16-year-old murder case. The suspect, Rana Javed, was traced and detained from Jhelum using modern technology.

According to police, the accused had brutally murdered a 60-year-old retired schoolteacher, Naseem Bibi, by stabbing her to death.

The incident came to light when neighbors noticed a foul smell two days later and found the victim.

Police said the suspect fled the scene after the crime and remained absconding for years. He had reportedly been visiting the victim for tuition and later planned the murder, targeting her as she lived alone.

The accused also stole the victim’s pension money and other cash after committing the crime. Police confirmed that the suspect will be challaned strictly on merit.
