DUBAI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 6th, 2026) The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for the Player of the Tournament award for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, with Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan among the shortlisted players.

Farhan delivered an outstanding performance during the tournament, scoring 383 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 76.60 and a strike rate of 160.25.

He achieved the milestone in just six innings, setting a new record for the most runs scored in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.

The Pakistani batter also scored two centuries during the tournament, one against Sri Lanka national cricket team and another against Namibia national cricket team. With these performances, he became the only batter to score two centuries in a single T20 World Cup edition.

The ICC’s announcement comes as the tournament approaches its final stage, with cricket fans eagerly awaiting the conclusion of the competition and the announcement of the Player of the Tournament.

The ICC has also included several other standout performers in the shortlist. Among them is India’s wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, who played a key role in his team’s progress during the tournament.

England’s all-rounder Will Jacks is also among the nominees, along with South Africa’s fast bowler Lungi Ngidi and captain Aiden Markram.

From New Zealand national cricket team, Rachin Ravindra and Tim Seifert have also been shortlisted following their consistent performances. In addition, Shadley van Schalkwyk from the United States national cricket team has been included among the nominees for the prestigious award.
