Syrian envoy calls on DPM Dar in New York

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) Ambassador Ibrahim Olabi, Permanent Representative of Syria to UN called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on sidelines of the high-level United Nations Security Council (UNSC) briefing on Palestine in New York.

The deputy prime minister welcomed recent positive developments aimed at promoting stability and national cohesion in Syria, expressing hope that their effective implementation would advance peace, unity and territorial integrity.

He reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on respect for international law, sovereignty and existing agreements, underscoring that violations of international commitments undermine regional stability and must be addressed in line with relevant UNSC resolutions.

Ambassador Ibrahim Olabi appreciated Pakistan’s consistent and principled support, and briefed DPM/FM on ongoing efforts toward stability and national reconciliation.
