KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi has imposed Section 144 in the coastal areas of Keamari in view of increasing public rush due to severe heat and heightened safety risks along the shoreline.

According to the notification, the decision was taken after a rise in accidents and drowning incidents reported in recent days, particularly during high tide conditions.

The ban includes swimming, bathing, and diving in the sea within Keamari’s coastal belt. Public movement and recreational activities along the shoreline have also been restricted under Section 144.

The restrictions will remain in place from May 23 to June 22, 2026.

Authorities said the move aims to protect human lives and ensure public safety. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary visits to coastal areas and strictly follow safety instructions.

Relevant Station House Officers (SHOs) have been authorized to take action against violations. Legal proceedings under Section 188 will be initiated against those violating the order.

Officials added that monitoring in coastal areas has been intensified to safeguard public life and property.
