Suthra Punjab: Media monitoring rooms to be set up in each division, says minister

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) Provincial Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique visited the Suthra Punjab Authority office where he inspected the modern monitoring room established on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

On this occasion, Director General Suthra Punjab Authority Babar Sahib Din gave a detailed briefing to the provincial minister on the affairs of the authority and ongoing measures.

It was informed in the briefing that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, steps are being taken to make the sanitation system more effective under the Suthra Punjab program, while most of the work of the transition process has been completed.

Provincial Minister Zeeshan Rafique directed that a media monitoring room be established in each division so that awareness and monitoring regarding cleanliness can be made more effective.

He also inspected various departments of the authority and reviewed ongoing projects related to cleanliness.

Presiding over the meeting, the provincial minister also watched a short film prepared to create awareness among the citizens.

On this occasion, he said that cleanliness is a special focus of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and for this purpose it is necessary to run a full awareness campaign. He said that through this film, the message of importance of cleanliness will be given especially to the youth.

Zeeshan Rafique directed that social media should also be used effectively for social awareness while all necessary steps should be taken for the anti-littering campaign. He further directed that fines should be imposed on those who spread dirt after cleaning.

The provincial minister also emphasized on further improving the citizen grievance redressal system, saying that the Suthra Punjab program is completely digitized and the actions taken on complaints should be immediately uploaded to the system.
