Suspected motorbike lifter shot, injured in police encounter

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) An alleged motorbike snatcher was shot and injured before being arrested in a police encounter occurring on Tando Fazal link road in the limits of Husri police station here on Friday.

The police spokesman Inspector Shahid Usman informed that 2 suspected outlaws riding on a motorbike engaged the cops in an exchange of fire during which Waqar Dahot sustained a gunshot to his leg while his accomplice escaped.

Dahot was rushed to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) for surgery of his wound, he added.

Usman claimed that the suspect was involved in the crimes of motorbikes snatching and that he was booked in at least 10 FIRs.

According to him, Dahot was also involved in some of the recent incidents of snatching in Husri town.
