Suspected drug peddler shot, injured in police encounter

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) A suspected drug peddler was arrested in injured condition after an encounter near the American Quarters in the limits of Hali road police station.

The police spokesman Awais Rajput informed here on Saturday that the Hali road police was engaged in an exchange of fire during which Muhammad Yaqoob Baloch sustained a gunshot to his leg and was arrested.

He claimed that Baloch was booked in 5 FIRs and that the police recovered ice from his possession.

Baloch was later shifted to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) for surgery of his gunshot injury.
