ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Commissioner Hazara Division Fayyaz Ali Shah has said that the welfare and financial support of orphaned and deserving girls is among the top priorities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, adding that the state never abandons its children and is committed to supporting vulnerable segments of society.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony organized by the District Zakat Office Abbottabad, where cheques worth Rs200,000 each were distributed among 15 orphaned and deserving girls under the provincial government's welfare and dowry assistance program.
The commissioner said that the government's responsibilities extend beyond development projects and include supporting families facing financial hardships. He emphasized that assisting deserving families and caring for orphaned girls are essential characteristics of a welfare-oriented society.
Fayyaz Ali Shah stated that the provincial government is ensuring the transparent and timely distribution of Zakat and welfare funds to genuine beneficiaries to help ease their financial difficulties.

Addressing the beneficiary girls, he advised them to build their new homes on the principles of love, patience, respect, and sacrifice, and said that women play a vital role in the development and prosperity of families and society. A prosperous family, he added, forms the foundation of a strong and stable society.
During the ceremony, the commissioner personally distributed the cheques among the 15 beneficiaries and extended his best wishes for their bright futures, successful marriages, and prosperous lives.
The event was attended by Zakat officials, representatives of Zakat committees, beneficiary families, and others.
