SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) The Superior Girls College clinched the first position in the Inter-Collegiate Girls tug-of-war championship organised by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Sargodha at Government Degree College for Women Farooq Colony here on Wednesday.
According to the results, Reader Girls College secured the second position while Government Degree College for Women Chandni Chowk stood third in the competition.
Vice Principal of Govt Degree College for Women Farooq Colony Madam Mansoora Safdar and Assistant Professor Madam Sabahat Baloch attended the event as chief guests.
Addressing the ceremony, Madam Mansoora Safdar stated that the promotion of sports alongside education is vital because a healthy body is a guarantee of a healthy mind.
She appreciated the efforts of the Sargodha Board, noting that the institution is playing an exemplary role in promoting co-curricular activities and providing female students with platforms to polish their skills.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education official Waqas Ahmed Butt informed that these inter-collegiate competitions had commenced on November 17, 2025, and the tug-of-war event marked the final phase of the tournament.
He credited the successful execution of the events to the support of the Commissioner Sargodha and the Secretary of the Education Board.
He further announced that two players from Sargodha, Hashim Maqsood Khan and Ali Raza, have been selected for an upcoming hockey tournament in Oman.
The official added that the Education Board will bear all travel and incidental expenses for the players and one accompanying official.
Coaches and participants expressed hope that the board would continue to organize such sporting events with the same spirit in the future.
