Sukkur sets up complaint cells to curb profiteering in Ramazan

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) To provide relief to citizens and ensure the availability of essential commodities at officially fixed rates during Ramazan, Deputy Commissioner Nadir Shehzad Khan on Friday has ordered the establishment of special complaint cells across the district.

According to the handout, complaint cells have been activated in Sukkur City, New Sukkur, Rohri, Pano Akil, and Saleh Pat, where citizens can report overpricing, hoarding, and violations of government-fixed rates. The DC emphasized that unjustified profiteering will not be tolerated during Ramadan. Immediate action will be taken on complaints, with price control magistrates actively inspecting markets daily to ensure essential items are sold at prescribed prices. Citizens are urged to report any overcharging to the relevant complaint numbers and cooperate with authorities to eliminate profiteering.
