SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) On the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Sukkur, Nasir Aftab, search operations against illegally residing Afghan nationals are ongoing. Snap checking at entry and exit points has been made more effective to enhance security.
According to a release on Saturday, in light of the current security situation, under the supervision of Sub Divisional Police Officers, police personnel, including lady police, intelligence staff, and other law enforcement agencies, are jointly performing high-alert duties. During the operations, houses and hotels were searched, and suspicious individuals were checked using the Talash app for verification and questioning.
Snap checking at all entry and exit points and key locations is being carried out, with thorough vehicle inspections and close monitoring of suspicious persons. Additionally, foolproof security arrangements have been put in place at mosques, Imambargahs, and other venues where Tarawih prayers and religious gatherings are held to ensure a safe environment for citizens.
DIG Sukkur has issued clear instructions to make search operations and snap checking organized and effective, while ensuring that police conduct operations with courtesy, professionalism, and within the bounds of law. Under a coordinated security network, effective monitoring is being maintained across all districts of the Sukkur division.
