MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) A grand urdu and Sindhi mushaira titled “Sukhan-e-Sindh” on Monday was held at the Mirpurkhas Arts Council under the auspices of the Sindh Department of Culture and Tourism, bringing together leading poets, writers, artists, and a large number of literary enthusiasts from across the country.

The event was attended by Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, MPA Asif Musa, DG Culture Habibullah Memon, Mayor Mirpurkhas Abdul Rauf Ghori, Town Chairman Syed Shazil Ali Shah, former caretaker Federal Minister Madad Ali Sindhi, and Chairman Sindhi Language Authority Dr. Sher Maharani, along with other dignitaries.

Prominent poets including Tehzeeb Hafi, Dr. Ambreen Haseeb Amber, Ayaz Gul, Ashraf Pali, Haji Sand, Khalil Khoso, Mustafa Arbab, Ahmed Solangi, Yousuf Laghari, Isra Sahar, Abdul Khaliq Aseer, and Ayaz Umrani presented their poetry in Urdu and Sindhi, earning repeated applause from the audience.

Renowned singer Rajab Faqir also delivered a captivating musical performance that was warmly received by attendees.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah said the establishment of the Mirpurkhas Arts Council would strengthen the city’s literary identity and provide new opportunities for writers and artists. He added that the Sindh government remained committed to promoting culture, literature, and regional languages, and announced that an office of the Sindhi Language Authority would soon be set up in Mirpurkhas to further connect the younger generation with their linguistic heritage.
