Stronger prosecution in narcotics cases emphasized

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) Member of the Pakistan Bar Council, Raja Rizwan Abbasi, emphasized strengthening professional capacity and effective use of evidence to ensure successful prosecution in narcotics cases.

Addressing a special lecture during a training course organized by the Punjab Public Prosecution Department, he highlighted the importance of forensic evidence, chain of custody and timely trial proceedings.

He said that the improved coordination between the prosecution and police can enhance conviction rates and ensure strict punishment for those involved in serious drug offences.

The training programme, initiated by the Secretary of Public Prosecution, Punjab, is being conducted across divisional headquarters to strengthen prosecutors’ expertise in narcotics laws and trial procedures.
