Strong crackdown ordered against fuel hoarders

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday ordered a strict crackdown against fuel hoarding and overcharging to stabilize the market and provide relief to the public.

According to the issued directives, petrol pumps across all districts would be monitored on a daily basis to check their fuel stocks. District administrations have been instructed to take immediate and strict legal action against individuals involved in hoarding petroleum products, charging excessive prices, or engaging in black marketing.

Authorities have also directed all districts to ensure the availability of fuel and regularly submit reports to the provincial government regarding enforcement measures and supply conditions.

The responsibility for implementing these orders has been assigned to the Department of Industries and the district administration.

Government sources stated that these measures were necessary to protect the public from price hikes and artificial shortages of fuel, adding that any negligence in this matter will not be tolerated.
