BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2026) The district administration has intensified efforts to ensure the availability of quality food items at controlled prices during the holy month of Ramazan.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza conducted a surprise visit to the cart market adjacent to the Craft Bazaar and reviewed the quality and prices of fruits and vegetables being sold there.
During the inspection, the DC interacted with vendors and shopkeepers, examined the availability of official price lists, and checked compliance with government-notified rates. He also spoke with citizens present at the market to obtain feedback regarding prices and quality of essential commodities.
Issuing clear directives on the spot, the DC emphasized that maximum relief must be provided to the public during the blessed month of Ramadan and that food items must be sold strictly at fair and officially notified prices.
He particularly directed vendors not to increase the prices of fruits and vegetables commonly used during Ramazan. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in artificial price hikes, hoarding, or profiteering. He reiterated that violations of price control regulations would not be tolerated and that offenders would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
He further instructed relevant officials to ensure regular monitoring of markets and conduct daily inspections of prices and quality standards to safeguard public interests during Ramadan. Reaffirming the administration’s commitment, he stated that all available resources would be utilized to provide maximum relief and convenience to citizens, and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
