PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Severe windstorm and heavy rain disrupted electricity supply in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after faults developed on 142 feeders in the Peshawar Electric Supply Company network on Tuesday.

Officials said the worst-hit areas included Swat, Peshawar, Khyber, Mardan and Swabi, where strong winds and rain damaged power infrastructure and interrupted supply to thousands of consumers.

According to PESCO spokesperson, emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to affected areas to restore electricity, while the control room continued to monitor the situation round the clock.

The utility company also ensured supply of all required equipment and material to operation teams to facilitate repair work.

The official said restoration efforts were underway, however uninterrupted rainfall and harsh weather conditions could delay complete restoration in some localities.

He urged consumers to cooperate with field staff during the repair process.
