Step-son kills father over minor dispute

KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) A youngster allegedly killed his step-father over a minor dispute reported at Mehr Shah area of the district on Thursday.

Police said on Thursday, the deceased, identified as Ghulam Abbas, had recently arrived from Lahore along with his step-son Mustafa for labor work at a local brick kiln. The argument reportedly erupted when the father asked Mustafa to work, which led to a heated exchange between the two.

During the altercation, Mustafa allegedly attacked Ghulam Abbas with bricks, inflicting severe head injuries that proved fatal on the spot.

Rescue and police teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information and shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical and legal formalities.

The suspect fled the scene after committing the crime; however, police launched a swift operation and later arrested the accused.

Police officials stated that legal proceedings have been initiated, and further investigation into the incident was underway.
