State Bank should take notice of cash salaries: Farhat Parveen

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jun, 2026) The Executive Director of the National Organisation for Working Communities-NOWCommunities, Farhat Parveen, said on Tuesday that the Sindh government had announced to raise the wage in the province across all four categories and the issue now is to implement that decision.

At a press conference at the NOWCommunities office on Tuesday, she said the purpose of this step is to make sure wages match the inflation as well as the skill level of workers.

Labour activist Mirza Maqsood pointed out at the press conference that workers were usually getting cash salaries to hide the violation of minimum wage ceiling.

He said the State Bank should take notice of this.

Farhat Parveen said a recent survey showed a large number of families with three contributing members did not earn more than 40,000.

She said the employers could send contribution to the social security without showing the identities of actual workers. This is resulting in major scams.

She urged the government to take action in these issues.
