The meeting of standing committee of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Local Government, Elections, and Rural Development Department was held on Monday at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat and discussed drafts of Hindus and Kalash marriages bill 2026

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th May, 2026) The meeting of standing committee of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Local Government, Elections, and Rural Development Department was held on Monday at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat and discussed drafts of Hindus and Kalash marriages bill 2026.

The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the committee and Member of the Provincial Assembly, Abdul Kabir Khan.

Members of the standing committee and provincial assembly members Suresh Kumar, Askar Parvez Lal Bahari Gopal Singh, Sobia Shahid, Farzana Shireen, and Shazia Tamas attended the meeting, along with the Special Secretary of Local Government, officials from the Law Department, and relevant officers of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat.

During the meeting, two important draft laws of Hindu Marriage Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bill 2026” and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kalash Marriage Bill 2026 were reviewed in detail. Committee members presented their opinions and suggestions on various legal, social, religious, and administrative aspects of both bills. The committee emphasized that the proposed laws should be in harmony with the religious beliefs, traditions, and fundamental rights of the relevant communities so that the concerns of all groups can be addressed.

During discussions on the hindu marriage bill 2026, committee agreed that amendments to certain clauses of the bill were an important matter, as there are different sects and traditions within the hindu community.

For this purpose, it was decided to form a subcommittee that would consult all relevant stakeholders and prepare recommendations. Necessary amendments to the bill will then be made in light of the subcommittee’s recommendations so that the law is acceptable to all sections of the Hindu community.

The meeting also held a detailed discussion on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kalash Marriage Bill 2026. Members decided that further deliberations on the Kalash Marriage Bill 2026 would continue in the committee’s next meeting.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman Abdul Kabir Khan directed the relevant authorities to proceed with further action in light of the recommendations and suggestions presented by the members regarding the bills under consideration, so that laws could be formulated in accordance with the rights, traditions, and social requirements of the concerned communities.
