SSP Shaheed Benazirabad takes immediate notice suicide of student at QUEST

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) SSP Shaheed Benazirabad, Sameer Noor Channa, took immediate notice of a tragic incident involving the alleged suicide of a student reported at Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering and Technology, and ordered a high-level inquiry.

According to initial details, the body of Nadir Channa, a final-year student at the university, was found in the university hostel. Preliminary information suggests that the student allegedly ended his life by hanging himself with a rope tied to a charpoy. Upon receiving information about the incident, SSP Sameer Noor Channa immediately visited the hostel and conducted a detailed inspection of the scene.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, SSP has formed a high-level investigation team under the supervision of the DSP Saddar. The team also includes SHO Taluka Nawabshah and experienced investigation officers.

They have been directed to thoroughly investigate the case from all possible angles.

Police have recorded initial statements of deceased student’s family members and his roommates to determine possible reasons behind the incident and to identify any suspicious aspects.

SSP has also ordered an immediate post-mortem examination and directed that medical report be obtained at the earliest to scientifically determine the exact cause of death. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Sameer Noor Channa said that the loss of a young student, who was hope of his parents and a future builder of nation, is deeply heartbreaking.

He expressed solidarity with the grieving family and assured that all legal requirements of justice will be fulfilled and that the facts of case will be brought to light. Police investigations are currently underway and a complete report will be presented once the inquiry is concluded.
