SSP orders secuity of Majalis, processions must be ensured at all costs, maintained at sensitive locations

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) On the occasion of Muharram, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jacobabad, Captain (Retd) Faizan Ali, visited Majalis (religious congregations), Matami processions (mourning processions), and their designated routes. He conducted a detailed review of the security arrangements for the Majalis, processions, and routes on Wednesday.

To maintain law and order during Muharram, ensure the protection of life and property of the mourners of Imam Hussain (AS), and guarantee a peaceful religious environment, SSP Jacobabad Captain (Retd) Faizan Ali conducted a comprehensive tour of various Imam Bargahs (Shia places of worship), Majalis, routes of Matami processions, and sensitive locations, reviewing security and administrative measures.

SSP Jacobabad inspected the passageways of the processions, internal and external routes, police pickets, blocking points, and other sensitive spots, while also checking the deployment of designated police personnel, their alertness, and overall security arrangements. On this occasion, concerned police officers briefed him on the security plan and duty arrangements.

During the visit, SSP Jacobabad Captain (Retd) Faizan Ali held meetings with administrators of Imam Bargahs, officials of mourning organizations (Anjuman-e-Aza), and Shia leaders, engaging in detailed discussions regarding security, traffic management, and other administrative matters during Muharram.

SSP Jacobabad assured the administrators that all available resources are being utilized to ensure the peaceful conduct of Majalis and Matami processions, and that Jacobabad Police are fully active in providing a safe and conducive environment for the mourners.

On this occasion, he issued directives to the concerned police officers, stating that the security of Majalis and processions must be ensured at all costs, strict surveillance must be maintained at sensitive locations, a close watch must be kept on suspicious activities, and they must remain prepared at all times to deal with any emergency situation. He further instructed that all officers and personnel should perform their duties with vigilance, caution, and professionalism.

SSP Jacobabad Captain (Retd) Faizan Ali stated that maintaining law and order during Muharram, providing foolproof security to mourners, and promoting religious harmony are among the top priorities of Jacobabad Police. He appealed to the citizens to fully cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and to immediately report any suspicious person, activity, or unusual situation to the concerned police station or the police emergency number 15, so that all congregations during Muharram can conclude peacefully, safely, and smoothly.
